Position Description
This position supports the Kuo Lab’s research portfolio under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, and may include conducting research, managing data, operating equipment, pulling samples, or other functions as directed by the PI. The Staff Associate applies knowledge of the research subject and scientific methods of analysis to project work and utilizes analytical skills to solve moderately complex problems based on established guidelines, protocols, and procedures. Working within guidelines, the incumbent carries out assigned duties in the design of apparatus, the adaptation of relevant technology to the needs of the project, the conduct of specific experiments, and the analysis of data. The Staff Associate operates and maintains equipment, computers, software programs, and research tools in support of the project, and shares information and confirmation of data with the Principal Investigator and other research team members. This is an individual-contributor role with no supervisory responsibilities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Knowledge of the research subject and scientific methods of analysis.
• Utilizes analytical skills to solve moderately complex problems based on
guidelines, protocols, and procedures
• Work within guidelines to carry out assigned duties in the design of apparatus, the adaptation of relevant technology to the needs of the project, the conduct of specific experiments, and the analysis of data.
• Ability to operate and maintain equipment, computers, software programs, and research tools in support of the project.
• Shares information and confirmation of data.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field
Preferred Qualifications:
• 4 years’ experience preferred.
