Overview

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Senior Health Services Program Specialist! In this role, you will oversee the creation and execution of health and education services and programs, while continuously assessing the needs of various health center programs throughout the City of Berkeley. You’ll supervise professional and support staff within the City, and work closely with volunteers, school district staff, and students. You will also coordinate health services with other City departments and community-based organizations.

The current available position is responsible for operations and administration of budgets, grants, and contracts that support programs at the Berkeley High School Health Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:
Equivalent to graduation from a college or university with major course work in public health, health- or social-services related field, or health-related public policy, and three years of experience as a health/social services professional.

One year supervisory experience which has included budget and program development is desirable. A master’s degree in public health, business administration, public administration or a closely related field is highly desirable.

Other requirements include: Must be willing to work evenings and weekends. Must be able to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet the program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities. When driving on City business, a valid California driver’s license and satisfactory driving record are required.
