Job Description and Duties

The candidate works under the general direction of the Chief, Health and Nutrition Education, Health Program Manager II (HPM II). The Health Program Specialist I (HPS I) integrates and supports the WIC Program by staying abreast of the most current public health policies addressing the WIC Program population. Serves as the lead policy specialist to integrate maternal, infant, and child public health content into WIC nutrition education materials. Supports and represents the HPM II by attending assigned internal and external workgroups and committees that serve like populations. Assures that the public health framework is integrated into WIC nutrition education and training materials and creates reports and white papers on current and emergent public health issues.
