Job Description:
Responsibilities
The Research Scientist I will work within the Bureau of Occupational Health and Injury Prevention and will contribute to motor vehicle traffic injury epidemiological research and surveillance. The incumbent will contribute directly towards problem definition, study design, execution, analyses, and interpretation and presentation of results. The incumbent will aid in the identification of risk factors and outcomes; monitor and evaluate the effects of risk exposure in the community; exposure investigation and surveillance to identify and reduce health risks.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or related field and two years of research experience; OR a Master’s degree in a related field and one year of research experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with data linkage or injury data.
Conditions of Employment
Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting is available.
Travel, up to 25%, will be required.
