Chippewa County is accepting applications for a Drug-Free Community Project Coordinator position within the Public Health Department – Planning and Strategy Division. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead efforts aimed at reducing substance use among youth and fostering collaboration throughout the community.

In this multifaceted role, you’ll be charged with overseeing the implementation of the Drug-Free Communities Support Program Grant, guided by the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) and CADCA’s 7 Strategies for Community Change. You will work across multiple levels to prevent youth substance use by mobilizing coalition members and engaging schools, youth, parents, law enforcement, and other key community sectors. This includes applying evidence-based strategies to provide information, build skills, enhance access/reduce barriers, change physical design, and enhance community support for prevention efforts. In addition, you will work closely with coalition members to develop and implement communication strategies that raise awareness of shared prevention efforts. Together, you will lead outreach initiatives to educate the community on risks and protective actions, recruit new coalition members, and ensure that grant activities align with program objectives.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Relations related field such as Social Work, Health Education, Psychology, Guidance/Counseling, Education, or related field required. At least two (2) years of experience in coordinating and implementing programs is required. Background/experience in substance abuse prevention preferred. Knowledge and a thorough understanding of successful program outcome management are required. A valid driver’s license is required. Starting Wage: $29.22 – $31.77 per hour depending on qualifications plus an excellent fringe benefit package. Maximum Wage: $38.12 per hour.
