Job Description and Duties

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by providing final assessment of acceptability for all requests for amendments to vital records and authorized and informational copies of vital records to ensure compliance with State policies as reflected in State regulations and office procedures.

The Supervising Program Technician I (SPT I) learns and applies technical knowledge pertinent to the functions and statutory responsibilities of the State Registrar in order to determine whether requests meet established criteria and whether the appropriate fees are attached. The SPT I utilizes the Initial Key Entry and Batching Application (IKEBA) and the Center Request Tracking System (CRTS) to form the basis for staff in other units to locate the appropriate certificate, complete the requested transaction, track the transaction throughout the process, and close the transaction upon completion.
