Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to supervise program personnel, including clinical and non-clinical staff. This position oversees federal grants specific to the EHDI (Early Hearing Detection and Intervention) program. This position also coordinates procurement activities for the program and manages the Maryland Infant Screening Database. This position will also provide staff support to the MD EHDI Advisory Council.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling, or a related field.

Experience: Six years of professional experience in health services, three years must have been in Health Services professional clinical or administrative services in areas other than Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities or Addictions and three years must have been at the managerial or supervisory level.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master’s degree or a Doctorate degree in a health or human services field from an accredited college or university for up to two years of the required general experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus an additional year of professional experience in health services for the required education.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Health Services Administration specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
The selected candidate must possess three years of experience managing federal grants.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess the following:

 

1. Experience/knowledge of data management, surveillance and program evaluation with experience in developing logic models, evaluation plans and quality improvement initiatives.

 

2. Experience/knowledge of managing budgets and finances.

 

3. Experience/knowledge of communication and collaboration working with diverse stakeholders including internal teams, external partners and public health agencies.
