Job Description and Duties
THIS IS A STATEWIDE RECRUITMENT. THE INCUMBENT WILL BE HEADQUARTERED IN THE COUNTY NEAREST THE RESIDENCE OF THE SELECTED CANDIDATE. THE COUNTIES ARE: Sacramento and Contra Costa
This is a remote-based position with up to 20% (approximately 1 day per week/4 days per month but may vary depending on need and scheduling with local partners) of travel required to assigned Local Health Jurisdictions (LHJs).
The Health Program Specialist II (HPS II) is responsible for coordinating and providing technical expertise within the Regional Public Health Office on high-level policy, workforce development, and communications activities that promote program alignment and cross-functional team coordination. The HPS II is responsible for ensuring coordination between RPHO leadership and staff and is responsible for activities and deliverables related to the Office’s vision, priorities, goals, and strategies including logistics, reporting, and evaluation requirements. The HPS II facilitates coordination and development of strategies within RPHO to develop policy guidelines, standardize processes, and highlight best practices to support RPHO’s partnership with local health jurisdictions, other Centers, Divisions and Offices within CDPH as appropriate and needed, and local public health regions. The Strategic Alignment Specialist will respond to often urgent, time-sensitive inquiries, and works with RPHO functional teams, including regional program coordinators, program specialists, public information officers, research scientists, and business operations leadership and staff to align functional activities, avoid duplication of effort, and ensure efficient operations.
