Job Description and Duties
This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by providing expert technical consultation associated with conducting complex analytical studies and the management of vital statistics data.
The Research Data Specialist II (RDS II) develops and refines data governance and normalization standards, analyses methodology, and programming procedures to improve the quality of vital records data. Develops coding procedures and standards to automate data file production and quality assurance procedures. Provides support for all Research and Analytics Branch (RAB) journey level analysts and technicians in the analyses, processing, organization, preparation, and dissemination of vital statistics information. The incumbent will also represent the Branch at various data committees, task forces, and workgroups.
