Responsibilities
Health Research, Inc. is seeking a Communications Coordinator I to work within the Division of Public Health Infrastructure to increase the Office of Public Health’s visibility by recommending website content, diverse public health campaigns and messaging that fosters health equity and inclusive content, sharing public health campaign materials with community partners, and providing statewide support during Public Health Week.  The position will also work collaboratively across the Office of Public Health and the Division of Public Health Infrastructure, coordinating projects that sustain strategic priority goals, by facilitating internal communications for the Office of Public Health e.g., newsletter, intranet, and webinars.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of relevant communications or training experience; OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience.  A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading communication strategies for an organization or department.
Experience evaluating and contributing to promotional efforts.
Experience in copy editing and authoring public health content.
Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate targeted health-related educational material, publications, and media campaigns.
At least two years of experience coordinating meetings on webinar platforms, i.e., Webex, Zoom, Teams.
Demonstrated experience of incorporating health equity strategies into projects.
Demonstrated knowledge of community engagement and/or outreach strategies.
Demonstrated awareness and understanding of public health issues, health literacy and health equity.
Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required.

This position may require occasional work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
