Job Description and Duties
This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by providing highly skilled, independent consultation in the planning, coordinating, and managing of all aspects of the California Biobank Program (CBP). The Staff Services Manager (SSM) I (Specialist) works closely with staff in the Genetic Disease Screening Program (GDSP), the Program and Policy Branch (PPB), the Laboratory Services Branch (LSB), and the Memorial Medical Center of Long Beach, to coordinate the handling, retrieving, storage, and destruction of Biobank specimens. The SSM I advises and consults with program leads concerning sensitive, controversial, and significant issues that influence GDSP CBP procedures, policies, and regulations.
