PUBLIC HEALTH EDUCATION SPECIALIST
Position # 652010
Salary Range: $46,933 – $74,175
Purpose of Position: Develop and implement health education curricula for child care centers, provide consultative services to child care providers and plan / conduct educational workshops for child care staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work effectively with people of all educational levels, posses skills in problem solving methodologies and resource utilization. Ability to write and speak effectively. Ability to build cooperation among various groups in carrying out a public health education program. Ability to understand the social, cognitive and psychological factors affecting clients’ receptiveness to service utilization and behavior modification.
Minimum Education and Experience: Graduation from a four year college or university with a major in health education and one year of experience in public health education or a related field; graduation from a four year college or university and two years experience in public health education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid NC Driver’s License, proof of measles, mumps, varicella and rubella immunity are required.
