Overview

Under general direction of the Health Program Manager (HPM) II, Chief of the Adolescent Health Section, the HPM I performs the management responsibilities related to planning, implementing, and monitoring of AFLP. The HPM I provides direct oversight for the program, establishes and monitors work plans and timelines, provides technical consultation on key activities, reviews deliverables, delegates tasks and establishes the program’s direction, in consultation with the Adolescent Health Section Manager and alignment with the priorities of the division. The HPM I supervises a small multidisciplinary team of program consultants. The HPM I represents the MCAH Division at federal, state, and local meetings. Travel up to 10% statewide as needed.

Knowledge of public health principles – including equity, reproductive justice and trauma-informed approaches, social drivers of health, meaningful youth engagement, primary prevention, and public health assessment and improvement.
High degree of organization, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and technical expertise related to program development, implementation, and training/capacity building.
Demonstrated knowledge of methods and techniques of inclusive leadership practices.
Initiative to ensure high quality program management and coordination.
Strengths-based approach to staff supervision, team building, and program oversight.
Demonstrated commitment and experience advancing equity and diversity and contributing to an accessible and inclusive working environment.
Functions effectively and works collaboratively in a team environment with diverse groups of people, as well as works independently by taking lead responsibility for key projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced work environment.
Effectively develop work plans, establish and maintain program priorities, and monitor/track contracts and deliverables.
Experience in successfully organizing and facilitating meetings and trainings.
