Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and results-oriented Public Health Specialist to lead and support public health initiatives that make a lasting impact. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, executing, and evaluating community health programs, conducting population-based research, and promoting education and advocacy around key public health issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, coordinate, and evaluate public health programs tailored to community needs.
Perform data analysis and community health assessments to identify health trends and inform strategic decisions.
Partner with local organizations, government agencies, and internal stakeholders to implement cross-sector health initiatives.
Create and deliver culturally appropriate health education materials and outreach campaigns.
Monitor public health metrics, prepare reports, and contribute to grant applications.
Support emergency preparedness and response planning in coordination with health authorities.
Train and mentor staff, volunteers, and community health workers on public health best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Education, or related field.
At least 2 years of experience in community health, health promotion, or public health program management.
Strong background in data collection, analysis, and health behavior models.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in public health software and tools (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, Excel).
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience serving diverse and underserved populations.
Knowledge of grant writing and public health funding sources.
Bilingual in English and Spanish or Creole is a strong plus.
