What You Will Do:

At the Washington State Department of Health, our mission is to enhance public health through innovative technology solutions. We’re looking for a dedicated professional to lead our Community Health & Licensing (CHL) application development team and ensure the seamless operation of critical business applications.

 

As the Application Development Supervisor, you will oversee the team responsible for developing and maintaining the Department’s CHL applications. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that our systems operate efficiently and securely while meeting state and federal standards. Your leadership will drive the strategic direction of application services, from design and development to implementation and management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Supervise a team of IT professionals, including recruitment, performance management, and professional development. Ensure effective staff management and maintain high morale.
Application Management: Oversee the design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of web-enabled information systems crucial to our business functions and reporting requirements.
Technical Oversight: Provide high-level technical guidance and make strategic decisions regarding application upgrades, security, and system architecture.
Data Management: Manage data integrations, ensure data quality, and develop reporting and visualization tools using various technologies.
Project Management: Lead the planning and execution of application projects, manage resources, and ensure timely delivery of solutions.
Problem Resolution: Address complex IT issues, perform comprehensive research, and implement effective solutions to maintain system stability and performance.
Quality Assurance: Conduct testing and maintain documentation standards to ensure reliable and secure application operations.
