Wake County Health and Human Services seeks an Occupational Health & Safety Program Manager to join #TeamWake! The Occupational Health & Safety Program Manager will manage the administrative and operational activities for occupational health to ensure compliance with all mandates to promote the health and safety of employees and clients.

Ways this role will serve employees and clients:

  • Assures compliance with infection prevention mandates by ensuring necessary Tuberculosis screenings are completed, maintaining the Respiratory Protection Program and providing 24/7 case management for bloodborne pathogen exposure and ensuring adherence to CDC, OSHA, and state health regulations
  • Assures that Human Services employees are in compliance with all workplace safety measures required by Wake County, the North Carolina Department of Labor and the Occupational Health and Safety Act as well as directs new employees to complete an occupational health risk assessment
  • Maintains employee occupational health records and provides all necessary occupational health trainings and education
  • Provides direct supervision to Occupational Health and Safety Staff
  • Supports quality assurance activities related to infection prevention and occupational health and safety including providing ongoing training to clinical and non-clinical staff on infection control practices
  • Works with leadership to analyze infection data and helps drive quality improvement initiatives

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Occupational Health, Nursing or a related field
  • Five years of job-related experience
  • RN – Registered Nurse – NC Board of Nursing or Compact state
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Work Schedule: Mon – Fri 8:30am – 5:15pm

Hiring Range: 66,105-89,240
