About the Role
We are seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the billing process for healthcare providers, ensuring timely and accurate submission of claims, and following up on outstanding claims to secure payment. The position offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated team in a dynamic environment, with the potential for growth and skill development within the medical billing field.
What You’ll Do
Review and verify patient information, insurance details, and coding to ensure accurate billing.
Submit and follow up on medical claims to insurance companies, ensuring timely reimbursement.
Resolve billing issues, including denials, rejections, and underpayments, through effective communication with insurance companies and healthcare providers.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all healthcare regulations and policies.
Work collaboratively with healthcare providers, office staff, and insurance representatives to address billing concerns and ensure seamless operations.
Stay updated with current billing codes, insurance regulations, and medical billing best practices.
What We’re Looking For
Must Have:
Proven experience in medical billing, with a solid understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
Familiarity with insurance verification, claim submission, and payment follow-up processes.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients.
Knowledge of medical billing software and tools (experience with EMR/EHR systems is a plus).
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Nice to Have:
Certification in medical billing (e.g., Certified Professional Biller – CPB).
Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance claims.
Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, etc.).
Ability to work independently and manage workload remotely (US-based preferred).
