This is an open rank call focusing on behavioural health sciences

Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Professor/ Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor (several posts) in Behavioural Health Sciences in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 532974), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract, subject to satisfactory performance. Exceptionally outstanding candidates for the positions of Professor/Associate Professor may be considered for appointment on tenure terms, subject to approval.

Applicants should possess: (i) a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a related discipline; (ii) a commitment to develop knowledge relevant to the improvement of the health of populations and the reduction of health disparities; (iii) evidence of exceptional public health scholarship as indicated by leadership in publications and external grant support; (iv) experience in teaching students how to improve the health of populations and in mentoring future academic leaders.

Applicants who use multidisciplinary approaches to address challenges in public health, global health, One Health and Planetary health and those with experience in the use of advanced epidemiologic and/or experimental approaches or the use of big data analytics to address public health questions in the next frontier of the control of infectious diseases, cancer, cardiometabolic disease, renal disease, mental health, and injury control are encouraged to apply. Throughout their careers, candidates are expected to respond to new priorities in human health as changes in planetary climate, pathogens, and human behaviour alter risks and opportunities.

The appointees will contribute to teaching public health principles to students in degree programmes such as public health, global health and development, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and Chinese medicine. They will join an interdisciplinary faculty committed to their success as they lead research programmes at the forefront of 21st century public health.

We are seeking scholars with a proven track record of impactful research on the determinants of health behaviours and the design, implementation, and evaluation of health-enhancing interventions. Candidates should possess a robust research program, a record of high-impact publications, and expertise in fields such as health psychology, behavioral epidemiology, implementation science, or health promotion. Experience working with East Asian populations would be considered advantageous.

We will consider applicants in the allied areas of Data Analytics / Community Medicine / Environmental Health / Global Health / Health Care Financing / Health Communication / Health Economics / Health Policy / Healthcare Management / Implementation Science / Mental Health / Public Health Practice. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
