Overview
We are looking for a compassionate and customer-focused Health Customer Service Representative to support patients, members, and healthcare providers with inquiries related to health services, benefits, appointments, billing, and general support. The ideal candidate is patient, empathetic, and able to communicate complex health-related information in a clear and friendly manner.
Both full-time and part-time schedules are available.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to inbound calls, emails, and messages from patients, members, or providers
Provide accurate information regarding health plans, benefits, coverage, and services
Assist customers with scheduling appointments, accessing records, or navigating online portals
Resolve concerns related to billing, claims, or eligibility
Document all interactions in company systems with accuracy and attention to detail
Follow compliance standards (HIPAA or relevant privacy regulations) when handling sensitive medical information
Escalate complex cases to the appropriate department when necessary
Maintain a positive, helpful attitude to ensure a high-quality customer experience
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in healthcare or related field is a plus)
Prior customer service experience; healthcare or insurance experience preferred
Strong communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills
Ability to explain health-related information clearly and respectfully
Comfortable navigating computer systems, CRM tools, and patient portals
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
Knowledge of medical terminology or insurance processes is a plus (training may be provided)
Work Schedule
Full-time: 35–40 hours per week
Part-time: Flexible hours, typically 15–25 hours per week
Some roles may require evening or weekend availability
