Overview
Mecklenburg County Public Health is seeking an experienced RN for the Nurse Supervisor position in the Family Planning / STI clinic located in Charlotte, NC. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a directly related area, including Women’s Health, Labor & Delivery, Public Health, or STI. Provides onsite supervision of nurses and/or multidisciplinary staff within the assigned program. Responsible for direction, training, and continuous assessment of nurses and/or multidisciplinary staff. Manages day-to-day activities and develops long term plans for the assigned program or area to ensure quality and timeliness of work according to established guidelines. Will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to identify best practices and lessons learned for quality assurance and quality improvement purposes. May participate in budgeting, statistical reporting, and other activities in connection with program administration.
Experience:
Minimum of five years of nursing experience in area directly related to area of assignment.
Education:
Graduate from an accredited/approved nursing education program.

Licenses and Certifications
· Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in NC issued by the NC Board of Nursing or another Nurse Licensure Compact State
· Certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) by the American Heart Association that is valid for at least 90 days after hire. Maintenance of this certification is required and as funds are available may be supported as part of employment.
· Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License
· Requires County Driving Privileges
· May require an Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required
Preferred Qualifications
· Two (2) years of lead nurse, charge nurse or other supervisory type experience preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree preferred for Nurse; Nurse Supervisor positions in other program areas:
· Bachelor’s degree with five years of relevant nursing experience preferred.
· If ADN, seven years of relevant nursing experience preferred
