The Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) is a 501(c)(3) membership organization located in Washington, DC, that serves as the voice of accredited academic public health. ASPPH’s 50-person staff serves more than 150+ academic schools and programs of public health accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). Position Purpose
The manager of member engagement supports and enhances ASPPH and Undergraduate Network membership by coordinating programs, communications, and events. This position manages key member initiatives, including grants, awards, professional development sessions, and centralized application service support, while providing frontline service to members. The manager maintains accurate membership records, tracks engagement and prospective members, and contributes to student pathways support and cross-team communications to strengthen ASPPH’s member community and programs.
Primary Responsibilities
Member Programming (65%)
Manage ASPPH and Undergraduate Network member engagement groups and related programming
Lead grant program for the Undergraduate Network
Manage member communication related to Undergraduate Network and ASPPH member engagement groups
Organize professional development sessions for annual meetings, retreats, and other virtual webinars
Supports the annual member awards process
Manage the annual designation updates for the centralized application service and program database
Provide first-line support for members related to the centralized application service and other member programs, including responding to console requests for ASPPH membership, and the Undergraduate Network
Liaise with the communications team to support member engagement communications
Membership Records (20%)
Identify and track prospective members for ASPPH and the Undergraduate Network
Track member engagement activities and compile engagement reports
Manage membership records related to the Undergraduate Network and ASPPH member engagement groups, meetings, and other events
Student Pathways Support (5%)
Act as a backup for student pathways email communications, service console, and tech support for student events
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of relevant experience
Exceptional customer service orientation
Superior communication skills (written and oral)
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal (other departments) and external (members) stakeholders, with strong collaboration skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
Positive, can-do attitude
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead projects, assignments, and implement strategy with accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to solve problems creatively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills:Experience with Salesforce or a similar customer relationship management system for database management and report generation
Experience with SOPHAS or other Centralized Application Service
Admissions, Recruitment, Student Affairs, Career Development, or other higher education administrative experience
Planning and managing multiple types of events
Experience with remote collaboration tools, e.g., Zoom, Slack, Monday.com, Box
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
Additional Information
Work Locale: ASPPH is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and maintains a hybrid work environment. This position may be performed remotely from one of the following states: CO, FL, GA, MA, MD, MI, NC, TX, VA, NY, or WV. Candidates located within a reasonable commuting distance of downtown Washington, D.C. will be expected to work in the office once per week.

Authority to Work in the US: The individual must be legally eligible to work in the US. ASPPH participates in E-Verify to confirm eligibility.
Travel Requirements: The position may involve occasional travel to member institutions and participation in meetings related to the position’s professional responsibilities.
Compensation: The position’s compensation level is based on industry salary surveys and the individual’s experience. ASPPH also takes into consideration the internal pay equity of our existing team members. The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $72,000. We typically do not hire at the maximum level to allow for salary growth. ASPPH offers a generous benefits package, detailed below.
