Overview
This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by creating customer focused solutions that are responsive and agile; supporting a modern infrastructure, tools, architecture, and standards; to effectively provide efficient services following service level agreements. The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) leverages data and technology to create sustainability across CDPH by creating efficient solutions that meet customer expectations and reduce waste. As well as, creating innovative solutions, strengthening partnerships and collaborations, and embracing technology.
The incumbent works under the direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II, Unit Chief in the Customer Service Section (CSS). The Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) works as a high level, technical specialist on complex assignments and has responsibility for providing Information Technology (IT) support to CDPH. This includes overall installation, maintenance, and administration of IT resources in support of a centralized IT environment, working for CSS, within the Data Center Operations Services Branch of ITSD, for CDPH. The ITS I independently prioritizes their work and resolves technical hardware/software and connectivity issues. Assists in the support for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all IT hardware, software, and peripherals. Collaborates with diverse technical and non-technical personnel and management at local, state, and federal agencies, stakeholders, developers, the Information Security Officer, project managers, and management to support and manage functions associated with the design, development, testing, integration, implementation, production support and maintenance work of new and current systems.
The ITS I will perform duties in the Client Services and System Engineering domains.
