Recovery & Behavioral Health Outreach Coordinator- Community Health Corps Montana

Want to make a difference in Montana communities while gaining hands-on experience in public health, outreach, and systems improvement? Three host-sites, Recovery Friendly Montana, Missoula, MT, Professional Counselors Association of Montana, Billings, MT, and State of Montana DPHHS- BHDD, are looking for a Recovery & Behavioral Health Outreach Coordinator. Join Community Health Corps Montana (CHCM)—a statewide AmeriCorps program hosted by the Montana Office of Rural Health and Area Health Education Center.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve ~40 hours/week with a local Montana nonprofit, tribal program, or other community agency
  • Members in health education and outreach roles will help expand community-facing education, communication, and engagement efforts
  • This opportunity offers hands-on experience in public health education, community communication, outreach planning, storytelling, and relationship-building with rural and tribal partners
  • Receive training, coaching, and support from CHCM staff and peers

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Mission-driven individuals (18+ w/ HS diploma or equivalent)
  • U.S. citizens/nationals or lawful permanent residents
  • Able to pass a federal background check
  • Reliable personal transportation
  • Ready to learn, grow, and serve in Montana

 

Activities may include refining training materials, assisting with curriculum or outreach content, supporting public health career and Community Health Worker program outreach, creating website or social media content, capturing stories that highlight community success, and helping behavioral health professionals connect with rural and tribal communities.
