Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this full-time position will be to provide peer recovery support services to individuals with primarily substance use disorders, but also mental health, co-occurring, and/or gambling disorders.
This position will also respond to opioid-related crises, staff a recovery and wellness center, and support individuals in their path to recovery.
The goal is to remove and/or overcome obstacles to recovery by finding resources, guiding, advocating, supporting, and assisting individuals to begin and maintain recovery.
These functions will be performed while adhering to the ethical responsibilities of a peer recovery specialist.
Compensation & Benefits
$48,486 – $61,464/year
State Benefits: This position is eligible for State of Maryland benefits.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
- Experience: One year of experience providing peer recovery support services.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with criminal justice populations
- An active Certified Peer Recovery Specialist credential
- Experience with spreadsheets and data collection
Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications
- Must possess a current certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist within 12 months from date of hire from the Maryland Addictions Professional Certification Board (MAPCB) located at 10807 Falls Road, #1376, Brooklandville, MD 21022.
- Required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland..
