Youth Health & Prevention Coordinator- Community Health Corps Montana

Want to make a difference in Montana communities while gaining hands-on experience in public health, outreach, and systems improvement? Two host-sites, Be the Change 406 Coalition, Dillon, MT, and Western AHEC & Missoula Public Health, Missoula, MT, are looking for a Youth Health & Prevention Coordinator. Join Community Health Corps Montana (CHCM)—a statewide AmeriCorps program hosted by the Montana Office of Rural Health and Area Health Education Center.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve ~40 hours/week with a local Montana nonprofit, tribal program, or other community agency
- Members serving in youth health and prevention roles will support education, outreach, and positive youth development activities
- Members will help create welcoming spaces where youth, families, schools, and community partners can build knowledge around mental health, substance use prevention, healthy choices, and future health careers
- Receive training, coaching, and support from CHCM staff and peers

Who We’re Looking For:
- Mission-driven individuals (18+ w/ HS diploma or equivalent)
- U.S. citizens/nationals or lawful permanent residents
- Able to pass a federal background check
- Reliable personal transportation
Ready to learn, grow, and serve in Montana
Projects may include mentoring youth leaders, supporting substance-free events, assisting with youth prevention programming, becoming certified to teach Youth or Teen Mental Health First Aid, building relationships with schools and youth-serving organizations, and supporting career pathway programming.
This opportunity offers hands-on experience in youth engagement, prevention education, mental health promotion, mentoring, and school or community-based outreach.
