The Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) is a 501(c)(3) membership organization located in Washington, DC that serves as the voice of accredited academic public health. ASPPH’s 35-person staff serves more than 140 academic schools and programs of public health accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). Position Purpose

The Grants Manager position ensures that grant programs operate efficiently by supporting the development, administration, and management of federal and non-federal grants. This includes managing the application process, preparing budgets and other application requirements, as well as streamlining post-award administration through financial monitoring, compliance, and reporting activities
 
Primary Responsibilities

Participate in the development and implementation of grant proposals and budgets
Monitor and track grant budgets and expenditures, and ensure that all expenses are allowable and comply with specific agency grant requirements and federal grant requirements, specifically the Uniform Administrative Requirements
Prepare and analyze financial reports to ensure projects meet budget and performance requirements
Ensure federal grant policies are followed and requirements are met for all federally funded projects
Work closely with program staff to ensure that grant activities are implemented effectively and efficiently
Manage and optimize grant and contract systems ensuring documentation is accurate, maintained, organized, and available for auditing purposes
Develop and maintain grant management process documentation
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree required
Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience. Experience managing federally-funded grants in a non-profit setting preferred.

Experience in a non-profit setting with of Federal grant requirements and policies
Proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel skills
Experience with accounting software systems Blackbaud, Sage Intacct) preferred
Ability to:Manage multiple projects
Develop and monitor budgets
Use financial systems to access financial data, run reports, and analyze financial data
Work independently, identify priorities, and manage multiple competing priorities
Identify relevant information and communicate accordingly
Collaborate and communicate effectively with others
Perform with attention to detail, accuracy, and effectiveness

Additional Information

Work Locale: The position is preferred in the metro Washington, DC area. ASPPH functions as a hybrid work environment. Full-time remote position possible from CO, FL, GA, MA, MD, MI, NC, TX, VA, and WV.
Authority to Work in the US: The individual must be legally eligible to work in the US.
Travel Requirements: The position may involve occasional travel to member institutions and participation in meetings related to the position’s professional responsibilities.
Compensation: The position’s compensation level is based on industry salary surveys and the individual’s experience. ASPPH offers a generous benefits package.
Position: Full-time, exempt position.
Reports To: Director of Grants
Manages/Supervises: No supervisory responsibilities
