The Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) is a 501(c)(3) membership organization located in Washington, DC that serves as the voice of accredited academic public health. ASPPH’s staff serves more than 150+ academic schools and programs of public health accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). Position Purpose
The Manager of Student Outreach and Recruitment works to expand the reach and impact of our member institutions’ public health programs, as a key service to our members, by focusing on digital communications and events, and managing student pathways data within the This Is Public Health student recruitment brand. This position will plan and execute effective and compelling student and member communication, track and manage student recruitment and engagement data, engage student ambassadors, and support pathways and recruitment events. Reporting to the Director of Student Pathways and Recruitment, the Manager of Student Outreach works collaboratively across ASPPH, our member institutions, and external partners to raise awareness and interest in the field of public health.
Primary Responsibilities
Prospective Student Marketing and Communications
o Lead development and delivery of digital content to support student recruitment and Network programming
o Create and distribute email marketing content to prospective and current graduate students
o Manage This Is Public Health social media and web content related to student recruitment, including digital advertising
o Create graphics related to content as needed for newsletters and social media
o Collaborate with the external relations division to ensure seamless storytelling between brands and audiences
Student and Member Services
o Support the student ambassador program by managing digital content-related projects
o Support member and Undergraduate Network (Network) member event communications and web asset management
o Develop communications to members related to student recruitment, admissions, and engagement
o Support development and implementation of virtual events
Data Management
o Tracks, measures, evaluates, and reports data results and effectiveness of marketing and promotional campaigns
o Ensure data accuracy of student recruitment and related member lists
o Manage reports and data uploads related to student recruitment and engagement
o Collaborate with institutional research and reporting team to develop and manage admissions reports
Minimum Qualifications
· Education: Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience.
· Experience: 4+ years of progressively responsible experience.
· Demonstrated experience with content creation, marketing and communications strategies and implementation
Skills Needed
· Experience in Salesforce or similar CRM
· Experience with email marketing platform e.g. Pardot/Account Engagement; MailChimp, etc
· Experience with WordPress or similar web content management system
· Experience with creating events and extracting data from Zoom
· Skilled at project management
· Detail orientation
· Exceptional written and oral communication skills
· Experience with social media and social media management platform (e.g. Hootsuite; LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Threads)
· Experience with graphic design platform (e.g. Canva)
Additional Information
· Work locale: ASPPH has its headquarters office located in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will be will located within a reasonable commute of downtown Washington, D.C. in order to work in-person once per week or in one of the following states if permanently remote: CO, FL, GA, MA, MD,MI, NC, TX, VA, NY, or WV.
· Reports to: Director of Student Pathways and Recruitment
· Manages/supervisors: No supervisory responsibilities.
· Authority to work in the U.S.: The individual must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. ASPPH participates in E-Verify to confirm eligibility.
· Travel requirements: Some travel may be necessary for ASPPH Annual Meeting and/or professional development opportunities.
· Compensation: The position’s compensation level is based on industry salary surveys and the individual’s experience. ASPPH also takes into consideration the internal pay equity of our existing team members. The salary range for this position is $60,000-67,000. We typically do not hire at the maximum level to allow for salary growth. ASPPH offers a generous benefits package, detailed below.
