Job Description and Duties
There is one vacancy being advertised across multiple counties. The incumbent will be headquartered in the county nearest the residence of the selected candidate. The counties are: * Sacramento or Contra Costa County *

 

The incumbent works under the Health Program Manager II (HPM II) of the Equity Technical Assistance Section. The Health Program Specialist I (HPS I) works on politically sensitive and complex projects, leading the OHE efforts to assure that the COVID-19 pandemic recovery and beyond addresses health equity, and serves to improve equitable health outcomes, especially among vulnerable populations. The Equity TA Specialist functions as a highly skilled, technical program consultant regularly performing duties that include leadership; project guidance, direction, and oversight; and technical expertise to support CDPH’s equity-related efforts. The incumbent reviews and utilizes health inequity analyses and incorporates these findings into collaborative strategy development and TA provision with local jurisdictions and regions.

Telework is available for this position in accordance with CDPH’s Telework Policy and Procedures.

The attached duty statement indicates whether this position is eligible for telework. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200, and may be required to report to a CDPH office, when needed. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the job offer being rescinded.
