Job Description and Duties

 

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by ensuring that core business areas of the California Confidential Network for Contract Tracing (CalCONNECT) data system are efficient, innovative, transparent, and customer-focused. CalCONNECT is statewide platform for conducting case investigation and contract tracing for COVID-19 and Mpox. This section facilitates statewide adoption, utilization, and governance of the CalCONNECT platform by serving as the primary CDPH point of contact for local health departments (LHDs), coordinating LHD council and other governance meetings, as well as developing and disseminating newsletters, notifications, alerts, and other communications.

The incumbent works under the general direction of the Branch Chief of the CalCONNECT Branch.

THIS IS A STATEWIDE RECRUITMENT. THE INCUMBENT WILL BE HEADQUARTERED IN THE COUNTY NEAREST THE RESIDENCE OF THE SELECTED CANDIDATE. THE COUNTIES ARE:   Sacramento, San Diego , and Contra Costa.

The attached duty statement indicates whether this position is eligible for telework. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200, and may be required to report to a CDPH office, when needed. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the job offer being rescinded.
