Medical Billing & Coding Specialist (Remote/Flexible)

Overview

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Remote Medical Billing & Coding Specialist to join our growing healthcare team. In this role, you’ll ensure accurate coding, smooth claims processing, and full compliance with payer and regulatory standards. If you’re detail-oriented, analytical, and thrive in a fast-paced remote environment, this role is an excellent fit.

You’ll review clinical documentation, assign correct CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes, submit and track claims, resolve denials, and support internal teams to maintain efficient, accurate billing workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
Prepare, submit, and monitor insurance claims
Research and resolve claim denials or discrepancies
Ensure compliance with payer rules, HIPAA, and regulatory guidelines
Collaborate with internal teams to support accurate documentation
Maintain organized billing records and reports
Identify opportunities to improve billing processes

Qualifications:

Medical Billing & Coding certification (CPC, CCS, or equivalent preferred)
1+ year of experience in a healthcare billing/coding role
Strong knowledge of insurance guidelines and reimbursement standards
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and time management
Proficiency with EMR/EHR and billing software
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote setting
