Overview
Chippewa County is accepting applications for an Environmental Health Specialist position within the Public Health Department. The job duties of the Environmental Health Specialist include but are not limited to: conducting environmental health inspections in the areas of food safety, lodging, swimming pools, tattoo parlors, and recreational facilities, providing consultation an education in the areas of lead, rabies, radon, and water testing; and providing responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Health, Public Health, Microbiology or related science field required. Two (2) years of environmental health experience preferred. Knowledge of sanitary codes, epidemiology, communicable and environmental-related disease required. Wisconsin Sanitarian registration is required within twelve (12) months of hire. HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) Certification preferred. A valid driver’s license and cell phone are required. Starting Wage: $31.34 – $34.07 per hour depending on qualifications plus an excellent fringe benefit package. Maximum Wage: $40.88 per hour.
