1. Job Summary

The newly recruited EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) teachers for this program must be international bilingual educators capable of teaching exclusively in English. They are expected to deliver their classes in English and contribute to both master’s and doctoral programs, as well as support undergraduate courses taught in English within their areas of expertise. Their responsibilities in teaching, research, and service should align with the standard expectations for full-time faculty roles, and they are required to offer a minimum of 2 credits in common, general education, or service courses each academic year. Additionally, they will help the school improve English instruction, curriculum development, research, and counseling in their professional fields, while also acting as mentors to foster an environment where professional fields are conducted entirely in English.

This program will have a joint appointment with the Institute of Food Safety and Health at the School of Public Health, leveraging the skills of newly recruited faculty. We warmly encourage individuals who are enthusiastic about global public health education and committed to enhancing global public health to submit their applications.

The rank and salary of the selected candidate will depend upon the candidate’s qualifications.

2. Required Qualifications

Applicants should have obtained a doctoral degree in a relevant field from a university recognized by the Ministry of Education, either domestic or international. Having more than one year of teaching and research experience in the relevant field is preferred. Current full-time faculty or researchers at domestic public or private universities and research institutions are not eligible to apply.

Field Expertise:
(1) Emerging food safety evaluation of modeling
(2) Health effects of gut microbiota
(3) Food chemistry and food safety on food processing
(4) Other food safety and health expertise, and able to complement the knowledge and skills of the faculty within the College of Public Health, National Taiwan University

3. How to Apply

(3) Identity document: For nationals of the Republic of China, please attach a photocopy of the front and back of your ID card; for Foreigners, please attach a photocopy of the basic passport information page; for Dual nationals, please attach both.

(4) An authenticated copy of the Ph.D. diploma and the original academic transcripts. (If yours are not in Mandarin or English, please provide English translated authenticated  version.)

(5) One copy for each of the current and previous employment experiences certificate (The original copy of the foreign employment experience certificate is required).

(6) One selected publications list, including full-text copies of representative publications (no more than four) within five years; and full-text copies of referenced publications (no more than ten) within 7 years.

(7) The original of the verification of co-author’s contribution to the applicant’s representative publications. (If you are the single author or the academician of Academia Sinica, then you do not have to attach.) Please submit the verification at least before the interview.

(8) 3 recommendation letters.

(9) The teaching and research plans for the next 3 years per the curriculum needs of GHP.

(10) Other information that helps the search committee better understand the applicant’s qualification. (For example: The teaching courses and evaluation results for the past 3 years, the catalog of research projects and the rewards, etc.)

4. Employment period

The earliest starting date is on February 1st or August 1st, 2025.
