The Contra Costa County Health Services Department is offering an excellent employment opportunity for qualified individuals interested in the Therapist Aide position. There is currently one (1) vacancy in the California Children’s Services Medical Therapy Unit located in Concord, CA, one (1) vacancy in Rehabilitation Therapy located in San Pablo, CA, and one (1) vacancy in Detention located in Martinez, CA.

Therapist Aides assist Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Language Pathologist, in supporting patients with their physical, mental and cognitive health. Individual and group sessions focus on skills such as organization, self-awareness, social interaction, planning, and community under Therapist supervision.

In addition to supporting Therapy sessions, Therapist Aides also help to maintain a stocked and organized therapy environment while managing supply orders. They also support scheduling electronic outpatient appointments, confirming patient insurance, checking in patients, scheduling follow-ups, fill schedule, managing cancellations, and reviewing referrals to ensure smooth therapy service delivery.

What you will typically be responsible for:

  • Assisting Therapists in performing group therapy for patients.
  • Communicating, being patient, and empathetic to patients’ needs.
  • Preparing patients for treatments as directed.
  • Maintaining and monitoring supplies, ordering, and managing arranged purchase orders, and ensuring stocks of required items for daily use.
