Job Responsibilities:

Serves as Agency Asset Manager, coordinating the surplus and/or disposal of agency property through Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) asset module and the inventory of agency property assets through the State Accounting Office (SAO) Asset Works system.

  • Agencywide oversight and administration of Surplus Property process & procedures.
  • Agencywide oversight and administration of Capital Assets process & procedures.
  • Agencywide oversight and administration of Motor Vehicle &/or Trailer fleet management responsibilities.
  • Agencywide oversight and administration of standard facility-related contracted asset inventory such as copiers, shred bins, & mechanical and/or medical equipment.
  • Ability to independently research, analyze, and make effective recommendations on administrative, budgetary, and fiscal practices, problems, and procedures.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities while meeting established deadlines.
  • Ability to ensure reconciliations between Accounts Payable (payments) and Asset Management (entries) in PeopleSoft system(s) are completed in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND 1 year of Facilities asset management experience OR Three years of experience in asset or property management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of and experience with State Accounting Office (SAO) and Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) policies and procedures related to asset management (capital assets & surplus property).
Experience communicating with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to discuss potential contract terms for the acquisition of facilities related goods and/or services.
Demonstrated experience developing and managing asset tracking data, preparing summary spreadsheets, creating graphs and tables, and evaluating agency asset metrics.
Knowledge of standard accounting principles.
