Under general supervision, provides technical assistance and training within a public health nursing care specialty. Manages the planning and implementation of a specialty nursing program. Evaluates programs for compliance with state and/or federal guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:

Under broad supervision, this position will be housed at South Central Health District and travel to County Health Departments and other worksites within the South Central Health District.

  • Will provide district TB guidance to County Nurse Managers, PH nurses, local medical centers and businesses throughout the community based on Georgia protocols and standing Physician orders.
  • Work to prevent and control the transmission of Tuberculosis by teaching and implementing the national strategies of TB elimination.
  • The TB Coordinator will conduct TB specific trainings, provide nursing services, guidance, and audit TB records for compliance.
  • The TB Coordinator will complete monthly, quarterly and annual reports as indicated.
  • This position will also oversee the District Child Health program and perform other assigned duties in the 10 counties that we serve.

*Must be willing to travel to the 10 counties.   Mileage will be reimbursed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in nursing, public health or related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of PHN experience AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certified
OR
Bachelor’s degree nursing from an accredited college or university AND Five years of PHN experience AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certified
OR
Two years of experience at the lower level PH Nursing Prog Consultant 1 (HCP210) or position equivalent AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certified.

Preferred Qualifications:
Public Health Nursing experience; experience with Infectious Diseases (specifically TB).
