Job Responsibilities
Under the broad supervision of the District Health Director, this position manages and administers nursing and clinical services across the public health district. Responsibilities include:
- Leading a district-wide system of public health nursing orientation, training, and education across all programs; assessing the present and potential health needs of communities; and revising district nursing goals, policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Develops and implements new processes and policies as needed, oversees the effective management of service delivery, and directs subordinate supervisors and staff in managing large numbers of agency personnel.
- Administering and evaluating district clinical services, developing program objectives, allocating resources to address identified needs, and ensuring effective operations.
- Builds and maintains partnerships with schools of nursing across the district and coordinates educational opportunities.
- Serves as the district’s HIPAA Compliance Officer.
- Coordinates district-wide nursing leadership in emergency preparedness, oversees the Office of Administrative Support and the district Call Center.
- Participates as a key member of the Southeast Health District Executive Management Team, contributing to strategic planning, leadership, and continuous improvement of public health programs across the district.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and seven (7) years of nursing experience, which includes three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory role and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level PH Manager 1 (HCM080) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field, with additional years of supervisory or management experience in public health nursing.
- Strong leadership skills in managing multidisciplinary teams and district-wide programs are desired, along with experience developing and evaluating nursing policies, clinical service delivery systems, and staff training initiatives.
- Should demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to contribute effectively to executive-level planning and decision-making.
