Responsibilities

Health Research, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Data Administrator to work within the Oral Health Program, New York State Department of Health. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting data activities critical to statewide oral health initiatives. The Assistant Data Administrator will support a broad range of activities, including data entry, reporting, and systematic tracking related to key program components such as water fluoridation efforts, school-based health centers (SBHCs) data, and infection prevention and control (IPC) training for Department of Health staff and dental providers across New York State. The Assistant Data Administrator will assist with ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of public health data by performing routine program tasks such as data collection, cleaning, validation, and review. The incumbent will assist in the timely entry of data into both state and federal public health databases, which are essential for monitoring program progress and supporting evidence-based decision-making. The incumbent will be working closely with program staff, researchers, and stakeholders. The Assistant Data Administrator will also support the efficient operation of the oral health program by maintaining organized data systems and generating informative reports.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in a related field or higher degree in a related field; OR two years of experience in data collection or data organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field; Certificate in Data Science, Data Analytics, Public Health, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or a related field; Experience in data abstraction from sensitive information into databases; Knowledge of basic medical, dental, and public health terminology; Experience working in oral health or community health programs;

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.  Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.  Travel up to 10% of the time will be required.  The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.  This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with a combination of onsite and remote work.

Work Location Expectations

At HRI, the nature of hybrid and onsite work varies by position. Some roles require full onsite presence, while others allow a hybrid schedule. Managers determine the specific telecommuting expectations for each role based on operational needs and job responsibilities. If designated as hybrid, you will divide your time between working remotely and reporting onsite. Regardless of telecommuting status, all HRI employees must live within a reasonable commuting distance of their official work location and must reside in one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, or Vermont.
