Responsibilities

The Health Program Coordinator I will coordinate a variety of programmatic functions to centralize, monitor and coordinate policy, program, and data activities to improve overall Office and programmatic performance. The incumbent will coordinate and monitor Office of Medicaid Policy and Health Care Financing (OMPHCF) administrative and operations activities. The Health Program Coordinator I will coordinate and monitor data access, security, confidentiality, and data use agreements for AIDS Institute staff to interface with a variety of internal and external data sources, including their related processes, policies, and procedures. Additionally, the incumbent will create, coordinate, and perform security training and technical assistance to staff and stakeholders; coordinate and monitor technology and related technology security needs; coordinate and implement office specific on-boarding training activities; represent the Office of Medicaid Policy and Health Care Financing; supervise staff; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of experience in program coordination in a public health, health, health regulatory, or human services related program; OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience. At least one year of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the coordination of various programmatic functions for public health programs and initiatives; knowledge of AIDS Institute’s populations; knowledge of New York State Medicaid; experience coordinating administrative activities and operations in a public health-related program area; strong knowledge and experience with confidentiality processes and requirements for highly confidential data, including appropriate handling of highly confidential HIV or Medicaid health-related information; experience developing and performing trainings to various audiences; experience providing technical assistance to staff, providers and stakeholders; proficiency in MS Office, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; excellent communication skills, including communicating with both internal and external stakeholders; and at least two years of supervisory experience in a public health or health care setting.

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
