Responsibilities
The Senior Health Program Coordinator, located within the Division of Family Health, will support and assist in the coordination of activities related to the State Promotion of Strategies to Advance Oral Health funded by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention Cooperative Agreement. The purpose of this cooperative agreement is to provide states funding to increase awareness of public health interventions and to increase access to preventive interventions that address oral health in populations of focus. The Senior Health Program Coordinator will serve as the liaison to internal and external partners in addition to the CDC grant officer and staff to report progress on grant activities. Responsibilities include providing technical assistance, contributing to the development of health information, and disseminating information to stakeholders (patients and providers). The incumbent for this position will support activities on Infection Prevention and Control by coordinating work with CDC’s partner agency, the Association for Dental Safety and the Department’s Division of Epidemiology which oversees the Hospital Acquired Infection Bureau.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of experience contributing to the coordination of program activities in a public health, health, health regulatory, or human services related program; OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the coordination of work group and external partner meetings, including planning and facilitating events and program activities. Experience developing materials, messaging, and other resources needed to support dental/public health campaigns. Experience developing dental/public health communications for children, youth, adolescents, and/or dental health programs. Experience coordinating and facilitating meetings and communications with internal and external stakeholders. Experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion principles throughout projects, with particular focus on health equity and the social determinants of health.
Conditions of Employment
Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Travel, up to 10% of the time, may be required.
The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire. Telecommuting will be available.
