Primary purpose:  Provides consulting, analytics, training, and development services to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). Supports the development and implementation of novel digital quality measures (dQMs) for hospitals and other healthcare settings. Leverages analytical skills and public-health knowledge to provide actionable insights for Lantana’s clients.

A successful candidate will:

Access and analyze complex data from various sources.
Conduct analyses in SAS and Python; interpret, summarize, and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
Manipulate datasets and perform quality checks on analytic deliverables.
Communicate analytic advice and data-science methodology to clients, management, and staff.
Analyze client needs and translate them into formal requirements.
Deliver project updates and presentations.
Collaborate to plan, develop, and implement validation activities and healthcare-quality measurement programs.
Maintain public-health expertise and stay abreast of current trends in the field.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or related discipline and at least twelve (12) years of relevant experience
Experience using SAS to import data, manipulate data/datasets, and conduct analyses to evaluate data quality and accuracy
Experience using R or Python
Experience managing large datasets, moving and merging files from different platforms, cleaning and aggregating data, and performing quality control
Experience working with quality-assurance testing or user-acceptance testing involving healthcare data
Ability to learn new tasks quickly
Attention to detail when developing materials, reviewing documentation, troubleshooting issues, and reporting results
Ability to successfully complete a Position of Public Trust Level 5 background investigation

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or related discipline.
Experience importing a variety of data types (including XML, JSON, CSV, and XSLX) into SAS
Experience working with national contracts/datasets
Experience with data modernization and/or automation
