Overview

We are seeking candidates with expertise or prior experience in research. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in public health, health education, social sciences, or a related field, with 3 – 5 years of experience. A master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of work experience. We expect our faculty to plan, assist, and conduct highly independent work on research projects, upon approval of the Principal Investigator. Together with the Principal Investigator and research team, the RA is expected to analyze, summarize and organize collected data, draft, edit and revise reports and manuscripts for dissemination of research findings. As minimum qualifications for consideration, applicants will have evidence of professional level research experience, communicating with health care providers, peer-review publications, reporting to the NIH and funding agency, and coordinating diverse, community stakeholders.

The School of Public Health (SPH) is located on the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-New Orleans (LSUHSC-NO) campus which is downtown in the medical district of the metropolitan area. LSUHSC-NO is a part of the Louisiana State University (LSU) System. The Community Health Science and Policy Program is one of four programs in the SPH and has a national reputation for community-engaged research and practice and for promoting a healthy society. The Community Health Science and Policy Program offers a BS degree, MPH degree, PhD degree, and several dual degree tracks.
