Main Purpose of Job
The Clinical Director, State Psychiatric Facilities provides clinical oversight for the Department’s five psychiatric hospitals: Eastern Shore Hospital Center, Thomas B. Finan Hospital Center, Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, Springfield Hospital Center, and Spring Grove Hospital Center, as well as the two Regional Institutes for Children and Adolescents. The clinical oversight of these facilities supports the management and care of vulnerable populations in Maryland.  Combined, these facilities serve over 2,000 individuals on an annual basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must possess a current Maryland medical license, current Maryland Controlled Dangerous Substance Registration and board certified in Forensic Psychiatry by the American Medical Association Specialty Board or other Board approved by the Maryland Board of Physicians. Qualified candidates must also possess 6 years of clinical oversight experience in a Psychiatric or Behavioral Health setting, including 4 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Applicants for this classification must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law. A copy of a current Maryland medical license and board certification should be attached to the application.

2. Applicants for this classification must be board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Medical Specialties, or other Board approved by the Maryland Board of Physicians.

3. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal use of Drugs.

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A cover letter and resume must accompany your application.
