The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID), one of the largest institutes in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and part of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), conducts and supports basic and applied research to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases.
The Immunologic & Infectious Disease Budget & Financial Management Branch, in the Office of Mission Integration & Financial Management (OMIFM), Office of Science Management and Operations, Office of the Director, seeks a highly motivated and qualified candidate for a budget technician position. As an OMIFM budget technician, you will verify the use of proper accounting codes on various budget documents and obtain, select, and compile data from various fiscal and budgetary sources. Serve as primary assistant to senior analysts and the budget director in developing budget estimates and gathering and reporting Institute obligations in disease areas.

· Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. National.

An ideal candidate would possess the following:
· Good communication skills, verbal and written.
· Experience using MS Office for business (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
· Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to use financial systems, reviewing and analyzing budget data.
