Assistant or Associate Professor – HIV Quantitative Methodologist Team Scientist

Overview

The Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing (ISGMH) and Third Coast Center for AIDS Research (TC CFAR) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seek a full-time non-tenure-eligible Team Scientist at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor.

 

Position Description

 

As part of the TC CFAR, the full-time non-tenure-eligible HIV Quantitative Methodologist team scientist will provide quantitative methodology support for investigators who are conducting HIV research and are members of the TC CFAR. For example, this may include drafting analysis plans, providing power analyses, and serving as lead biostatistician on projects of TC CFAR members, in close collaboration with the TC CFAR Biostatistics and Computational Resources Team. The person in this position will also serve as a team scientist on Northwestern NIH grants, as a site-PI or PI on some of their own grants, help build the NIH HIV grant portfolio at Northwestern, and help to meet the demand for quantitative methods requests. The team scientist may also be able to work on other aspects of HIV quantitative research that advance sexual and gender minority health and can have interests and/or a focus in areas aligned with HIV, such as substance use, mental health, wellbeing, aging, women’s health, and other foci related to health issues affecting sexual and gender minority populations.

The Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing (ISGMH) at Northwestern University, founded in 2015 and housed on Northwestern’s Chicago campus, is the nation’s first university-wide center focused exclusively on LGBTQ+ health. It provides leadership and infrastructure that promotes innovative, multidisciplinary research to improve the health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ individuals and communities. The Institute provides unique opportunities for exceptional research and training for the next generation of LGBTQ+ scholars, and it utilizes innovative modalities to disseminate knowledge widely to the LGBTQ+ community, the public at large, scholars, service providers, educators, and policymakers. Currently, ISGMH has 20 core faculty, over 110 staff and trainees, and over 30 faculty affiliates across Northwestern.

 

The Third Coast Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) has a grand vision to catalyze cross-institutional and cross-disciplinary collaborations with broad scope and major impact on the HIV epidemic in Chicago. We seek to realize this vision by serving as a national model for research to slow and stop the spread of HIV among young men who have sex with men. The Third Coast CFAR is funded by multiple institutes of the National Institutes of Health and administer by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
