COMMUNITY HEALTH TECHNICIAN

Position # 560104

Salary Range:       $31,520-$48,642

Purpose of Position: To provide assistance to Nutritionists and Support Staff in the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Food Program at the Health Department by performing required anthropometric, laboratory, and data entry services required for WIC certification and services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Considerable knowledge of the routine care and treatment of acutely chronically ill clients; working knowledge of general physical and mental problems of the chronically ill and obvious signs of conditions changes; skill in observing and assessing basic personal care needs of patients; skill in performing nursing assistance acts in decubitus care dressing, irrigation of catheters, tube feedings, and enemas as well as simple physical exercises.

Minimum Education and Experience: Demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities as stated above through at least two years of experience in performing similar tasks in a hospital, clinic, nursing home, medical corps, or medical treatment program. A valid North Carolina driver’s license, proof of measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity.
