Your Role and Impact
The role of the HL7 Interoperability Analyst is essential to elevating client success. Our HL7 Interoperability Analysts assist in the execution of various operational activities on behalf of clients, such as data analysis, provider follow-up, issue resolution, data quality and more.  This position has exposure to various levels of public health technology and operations.

Job Functions

Research of various state public health-related topics, processes, and workflows
Interoperability support of public and private clients
Technical support including, but not limited to, data quality analysis
Transfer and enter data of provider information into state public health IIS
Track and report on the status of HL7 data exchange requests and processes
Read and troubleshoot HL7 messages, identify errors and warnings, and provide the best resolution for the client
Troubleshooting and project mitigation
Immunization Information System activities such as:New user account setup
New Organization and Facility set up for IIS HL7 connections
IIS setup
Update facility and organization information as needed
HL7 specifications
Testing
Data Quality Analysis
IIS demo
Prepare various documentation and tools such as customized Interoperability Guides, Readiness Checklists, Discovery Questionnaires, Communication Templates and more
Assist in creating and documenting ad hoc and automated procedures
Assist in additional client requests as assigned
Complete prep work for client facing calls and run the calls
Own responsibility for interface project success; designs, develops, and monitors interoperability and IIS data quality standards
Quickly identify breakdowns in connectivity and establish a recovery plan with technical partners for restoring an interface, in addition to providing a plan for addressing any data gaps
Train and support other IIS staff members on the basics of interface functionality and HL7 messaging related to or impacting their area of expertise in support of program goals and objectives.
Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to HL7
Identify interface issues and opportunities for improvement
Communicate interoperability requirements to technical and non-technical personnel and ensures successful collaboration between the team members and clients
Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills both with internal teams as well as clients
Qualifications and Requirements

Associate or bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or Businesses-related, or 3-5 years of experience in customer service in a data or technology industry
2 –5 years of experience in HL7, Interoperability, and Data Quality
Strong functional knowledge and experience with HL7 segments, fields, and data types
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong computer navigation and keyboarding skills (minimum 45 wpm with high accuracy)
Detail-oriented, highly organized, precise, and efficient
Demonstrated ability to set priorities and independently problem solve
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines within a metrics-driven environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong reading comprehension, and exceptional use of spelling, grammar, and punctuation
Ability to communicate in a knowledgeable and professional manner with all levels of management, the public, peers, and individuals from diverse backgrounds
Ability to plan and organize effectively
Ability to multitask and identify, analyze, and solve problems
Strong work ethic
