JOB OVERVIEW: The purpose of this position is to perform general community health nursing, evaluate new clients for program eligibility and work as clinic staff nurse. Can be assigned to different program area as needed. The work is performed under the supervision of the Public Health Nursing Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRIMARY ROLE:
– Immunization clinic for infants, children, and adults. Performs all duties associated with the immunization clinic including ordering supplies, inventory control, scheduling, and outreach
– Works in collaboration with the Public Health Educator and the Public Health Nurse Educator on various school programs
– Conducts county educational classes on various topics including, but not limited to: Wellness, Behavioral Health, ATOD, Chronic Disease Prevention, and    CPR/First Aid
– Performs health screening procedures such as blood pressure, height, weight, reviews lab results; performs venipuncture; dispenses medications;   administers injections
SECONDARY ROLE:
– Assignments could be to any public health program or clinical programs as needed including Communicable Diseases and STD

REQUIREMENTS:

– Minimum Associates Degree
– Current Missouri Registered Nurse License
– Minimum one (1) year Registered Nursing experience (experience relating to Public Health preferred)
– Certified Health Education Specialist preferred
– Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
