What you will be doing:
As a Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding public health through your work at the Alaska State Public Health Laboratories. Here’s what you’ll be focusing on:Quality Assurance: You’ll conduct thorough audits and reviews, ensuring that laboratory processes meet the highest standards. Your keen eye for detail will be crucial in validating staff training and standard operating procedures.
Continuous Improvement: Your analytical skills will be useful as you develop and implement corrective actions and quality control procedures. You’ll use statistical analysis to identify and resolve any issues, maintaining the laboratory’s reputation for excellence.
Education and Support: You will serve as a mentor and educator, providing essential training to laboratory inspectors and workers. Your expertise will also assist in assessing clinical laboratories across Alaska, contributing to the state-wide commitment to quality healthcare.
This role is not just about what you’ll do; it’s about the impact you’ll make—enhancing the accuracy of critical health tests and shaping the future of public health in Alaska.

Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one’s job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.
Quality Management: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools of quality assurance, quality control, and reliability used to ensure that a project, system, or product fulfills requirements and standards.
Audit Reporting: Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques used to report audit findings (criteria, condition, cause, effect, and recommendation)
Compliance: Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance.
Quality Assurance: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools of quality assurance and quality control used to ensure a product fulfills functional requirements and standards.
