THE POSITION
The State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health (DPH) is now hiring for a Health Program Associate to join their team! This position will work within the Facility Licensing and Investigations Section (FLIS). FLIS licenses and inspects health care facilities. Travel throughout the state is required. Certification as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional or education and certification in human services or a closely related field is preferred.

Please Note: Candidates who are offered and accept a position with DPH Facility Licensing and Investigations Section must be free of outside employment that may conflict with the role they are offered. This will be reviewed by Human Resources prior to start date.

– WORK HOURS: Full-Time, First Shift, 35 Hours per Week
– SCHEDULE: Typical work schedule of Monday through Friday. Some off hours are required.

As a Health Program Associate, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:     
– Conduct site visits at Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IDD) and other licensed health care facilities to perform inspections and investigations;
– Analyze information to assess compliance with regulatory requirements;
– Prepare comprehensive reports to document findings;
– Develop, implement and monitor protocols; and
– May conduct presentations for licensed facilities regarding the programs, laws and regulations administered by the DPH, FLIS.
