Job Description and Duties
This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by performing a variety of duties related to disease intervention coordination, response, training and mentorship, and technical assistance in support of CDPH’s Center for Infectious Disease (CID) programs and California Local Health Departments (LHDs).
The Associate Health Program Advisor acts as a Disease Intervention Specialist (DIS) in support of a variety of infectious disease intervention efforts, including provision of technical assistance and training, as well as surge support in the case of an infectious disease threat or emergency. The DIS provides CalCONNECT technical assistance, adoption, support, and coordination (TASC) for CDPH CID programs and LHDs. The position additionally works closely with California Pathways into Public Health (Cal-PPH/Pathways) program staff to support DI mentorship and training support for fellows, and applicant recruitment support for interns and fellows.
